FAQs

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, we schedule by appointment only and require a referral from your specialist or doctor for every scan. Please note that early mornings and evenings are in high demand and do fill up quickly.

We usually require 1-2 weeks notice so please consider this when booking your appointment.

Who will be doing my scan?

Scans at our clinic are performed by Dr Victor Hurley — an experienced obstetrician, gynaecologist, and ultrasonologist — or by one of our specialised female sonographers, all highly trained in obstetric and gynaecological imaging. You are welcome to request a preferred sonographer when booking. Every scan is conducted and reviewed with expert care to ensure the highest quality of service in women’s imaging.

Do I need a referral to book an Ultrasound?

Yes, as we are an Accredited Diagnostic Imaging Practice, Medicare requires a referral for every ultrasound scan appointment.

We can use any referral made out to any ultrasound practice, it does not specifically need to be on our form.

What should I wear to my scan?

Wear any clothes that you feel comfortable in, a two-piece outfit is ideal.

What do I need to bring to my Appointment?

Please bring your referral with you and any other images or reports that you think may be relevant.

Who can I bring with me to my appointment?

We understand how exciting an ultrasound can be. However, it is still a medical procedure and the sonographers and doctors have to concentrate during the scan whilst taking their measurements. There is also the possibility that there could be complications found during the scan so this has to be taken into consideration. To minimise the risk of any distractions we only allow the patient and one other support person in the room during your scan.

Unfortunately children are not permitted to attend the Ultrasound appointment with you
